Tobermory Harbour Association April 1st Update

Covid 19 restrictions update at 1st April 2020

As you may be aware, we have taken the decision to close the public facilities at Taigh Solais, the Harbour Building, to the public to mitigate the risks of Covid-19 on our staff and the public. The toilets and showers remain closed off, however, access to the laundry has been maintained as we see this as an essential facility for some in the town.

The office team are working remotely, and are still contactable on the usual phone number (01688 302876) during working hours. If you have a query, please get in touch with us on admin@tobermoryharbour.co.uk

The harbour team are working from the boardroom and remain in contact with harbour users. Although the harbour is closed to all non-essential visiting vessels, we remain a Port of Refuge and are open for essential traffic. Essential traffic includes fisheries, ferries and commercial boats, emergencies and medivacs. Visiting vessels entering the harbour limits must contact the Harbour team on VHF channel 68 or the duty mobile (07917 832 497) and await instruction.

Local mooring holders are permitted to use the pontoons to check on boats in the bay, however, we ask that boat-use is kept to essential-trips only to reduce the strain on the emergency services.

Mull Aquarium is closed, with all creatures returned to the sea over a week ago. We hope to welcome you to the aquarium again later in the year, when it is safe to do so. Keep an eye on their social media to get your fishy-fix!

Finally, we want to thank our members for their continued support through this difficult time. We hope you are enjoying more time with family and all stay healthy and happy – and keep washing those hands!
